Upcoming Navigating Perinatal Loss Circles
The Navigating Perinatal Loss Circles are a processing space for BIPOC birthing people of all genders and identities who have experienced a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. This is a 4-week virtual group for BIPOC perinatal loss families led by Marquita Straus, LICSWA.
This series is unique in that it is not a general grief support group but an interactive combination of education, skills development, and peer support. Over four 2-hour sessions, we will explore how pregnancy or infant loss impacts us emotionally and physically, gather tools to sit with grief, manage grief triggers, honoring your baby, and adjust to life after loss.
*Important Note: While we honor and acknowledge each person’s experience, we also recognize that no two losses are the same. Navigating Perinatal Loss Circles will not explore individual group member birth stories or loss details to prevent triggering others in the group.
Who is this series for?
If you have experienced a pregnancy or infant loss, and it is affecting your life, then this series is for you. It does not matter where or how long ago you experienced your loss, this group is meant loss families together to heal and know that they are not alone.
What to expect:
- Each session is 2 hours long, including breaks.
- This group is for the birthing parent.
- If you have experienced birth trauma in combination with a pregnancy loss, you are welcome to join this circle, or you can register your interest for the next Trauma & Loss group that will cover both topics.
- Your registration includes all materials needed for the entire series including curriculum materials and art/writing supplies for activities.
- You will need to have access to a device that has a working camera and microphone that can run Zoom.
This series group is limited to eight participants and is not a substitute for medical, psychological, or psychiatric care.
